1. Consider the following business plan. We all know that there are people who are in need of money and that there are people who are in need of transplant organs. Currently, transplant organs are acquired through a system of donation, but this often involves a long waiting period, and even then, there is no guarantee of getting the needed transplant. A business plan is developed to establish an online exchange (an ebay for organs) where donors can put their organs up for sale and patients can purchase them online. Assume that there are safeguards to ensure the safety of the organs and to prevent fraud. Is this plan to buy and sell organs morally permissible?

Situate your response within the context of Immanuel Kant’s ethics. Kant’s view, as we have seen, is that the source of morality is the categorical imperative. In your paper, you should provide an account of what the categorical imperative means. And, your should apply the categorical imperative to evaluate this business plan, showing why or why not it would be moral from a Kantian perspective. Finally, I would like to know why you would either agree or disagree with Kant.
