Read two essays in Chapter 11 (“The Nursing Crisis; The Solution Lies Within,”
“An Open Letter to the Community,” or “Request for a Work Schedule Change”)
Analyze the two essays’ arguments by com paring (s howing similarities) and
contrasting (s howing differences) your two essays regarding the effectiveness of
their thesis statements, proposed solutions, and evidence.

Then, explain which essay you think is more effective and offer two (2) specific
reasons to support your choice.

INTRODUCTORY PARAGRAPHS

Define and describe in your OWN words the three parts to an introduction per my
SCOOP. Then, write and post an introductory paragraph of your own with all three
parts in it. Do not label any of your parts, though. (Please make a note of each part
as i will need to be able to identify them after a student res ponds)

‘Read another student’s introductory paragraph, and identify that student’s three
parts to her/his introductory paragraph. Be sure to provide your rationale. ‘See last
page of reading Material Attachment for the paragraph)

Then, look for that student’s response as to whether you correctly identified all
three parts.

Finally, respond to another student’s post identifying your own paragraph’s three
parts.
