The paper should be formatted in this way- 6-8 pages in length (roughly 1500-2000 words- no penalty for going over), Times New Roman 12pt. font, double-spaced, one-inch margins, one-sided printing, properly cited in Chicago Style with either footnotes or endnotes and a bibliography.

As for choosing a topic applying Reason in Controversy, that is part of the assignment. Students need to select a topic to explore, research, and construct a reasoned argument around (this should include showing multiple perspectives about the issue even if a particular position is taken). The topics we discussed going around the room last class were very good ones. For those still thinking about a topic, consider all the readings in the Discussion Board around censorship, propaganda, public relations, and ongoing iterations of so-called fake news; any of the Group work stories, contents of either of the Censored books, the film reviews, or other related controversial topics (including ones we did not discuss at length). Please recall the material from our text, Asking the Right Questions, to ensure the construction of a logical and reasoned paper. It never hurts to go back and read the syllabus for a refresher on things we did, course policy, grading, etc.
