This is an individually completed digital presentation that involves you designing a series of creative arts experiences for children (0-8 years of age) and putting your curriculum plans into action by doing some of the activities yourself. The aim is to demonstrate your emerging knowledge and skills in developing, initiating, planning and implementing integrated arts-based curriculum.
The creative arts experiences you design should authentically integrate a minimum of two art forms (at least one visual art or media art and at least one performing art: music, dance, drama). You may choose other creative practices, for example, martial arts, circus arts, or design, but please negotiate this with the Unit Coordinator.
You are encouraged to select a topic, theme or concept that could be addressed in early childhood centres or primary school early years classrooms (for example, Reconciliation, mini-beasts, healthy eating, sustainable transport, light and shadow, summer/winter solstice, myths and legends, life cycles, metamorphosis, my family etc).
You are expected to: plan relevant creative arts-based experiences that integrate learning through your topic, theme or concept discuss the rationale for your plan’s theme and approach to integration by referencing relevant curriculum documents and scholarly literature state clear learning intentions and make relevant curriculum links to your intentions consider how your activities are inclusive of diverse learners’ abilities and characteristics
