Write a profile about a person (not a family member or significant other) who has dedicated a great deal of time and effort to developing expertise in a specific discipline, profession, art form, or hobby. This person must not be associated with Kennesaw State University as a faculty member or staff member.

Closely observe your subject in his or her environment; interview this person, and then present what you have learned in an essay that both informs and engages readers. Your profile should focus on your subject’s current profession/work. In your thesis communicate the dominant impression that you want to leave with your reader. What trait, situation, value, belief, attitude (etc.) has brought this professional to where he or she is today? Provide your reader with plenty of evidence to support this dominant impression.

Research

Gather information for your profile from two primary and two secondary sources:

Two primary sources: 1) your observations 2) your interview (photos are nice but not required)

Two secondary sources: print or web sources (newspaper articles, websites, pamphlets, books, magazines, etc.)

All outside sources including your interview must be cited using MLA format. Your Works Cited page should include at least three citations: 1) the interview 2) two print or web sources
