Topic for current news story: What role(s) does the nonprofit sector play in the United States? Is the sector necessary?

You will find a current news story related to the assigned topic and public administration. Students will research the topic presented in the news story and prepare a brief report (between 250-500 words) on how this story relates to the assigned course topic. The report should not be a summary of the news article. Reports may include a description of the issue; the organizations, interests, and officials involved. The report should highlight the direct connection between the news story and public administration as well as an analysis of issue. This will require students to draw upon concepts found in course readings.
