After reading Costanza et al. (2014) articles titled “Changes in the global value of ecosystem services” answer the following questions:

1. Why do we have to put a dollar value on ecosystem services?
2. Isn’t it meaningless if we assign a value to the global ecosystem because if the global ecosystem fails we all die? Shouldn’t the value of the global ecosystem be infinite?
3. Do you agree that ecosystem services are public goods? Why or why not?
