We can work on Signature Assignment for HUM250

Introduction

The Signature Assignment for HUM250 is an analysis of a particular work of art (i.e., a painting, movie, book, etc.) that connects to your career field. For example, the film Patch Adamsexplores how a doctor uses humor to communicate with and motivate his patients as part of his healing philosophy. Students need to draw conclusions between art and make it relevant to their professional lives. It is easier to do this assignment with a painting, sculpture, or architecture. However, if you want to choose a book ,film, or other form of humanities, this is fine. Just remember that once you make a selection you cannot change your mind.

You will need to complete the Signature Assignment in sections throughout the course.

• Module 1: Brainstorm a topic for your assignment.

• Module 2: Create an annotated bibliography.

• Module 3: Create an outline for your Signature Assignment.

• Module 5: The final draft is due.

Your Signature Assignment will consist of a paper on a topic linked to your program of study. Choose a topic that would be of interest to you or your future employer. This paper will be a part of your ePortfolio. Use this as an opportunity to show your analytical and communication skills which can be highlighted in your ePortfolio.

Activity Instructions

Module 1: Brainstorm (70 Points)

Create a one-page brainstorm that clarifies the topic you have selected. The  Word format can be done in any manner that allows you to be your most creative. You should be able to locate and identify a work of art that connects with your career field in some manner. Try to draw connections between your selection and how relevant it can or could be to your work, home, or both. To develop your ideas, it is good to also write about the era in which the “art piece” occurred. Ex. Renaissance era.  It is also a good idea to include the author or artists data in the paper as well. Ex. Picasso.   An example of the brainstorm and further explanation will be in your first live session video. Be sure to include a small photo of your art selection in the paper. You need approval for  your brainstorm topic.  Please send your topic to my email before Tuesday night. If you are repeating this class DO NOT submit the same work from  previous classes, this includes discussions. When you do this, it is considered self-plagiarism. You must write all new work.

Instructions

1-You have a nice topic but your art selection is not from the correct era. You should be writing about Expressionism.

2- Although you have a nice topic, you did not provide enough support for the topic. For instance, you only have 2 sentences about the painting, it seems most of the paragraph ( which should have been broken into parts) was about the career field.

3- Your second page should have the same title as the first page, and it should be in bold font.

4- You do not have the minimum of two sources.

5- Where are the in-text citations? Without these, this is plagiarism. I need to know which words are yours, and which words are the authors. Did you get a chance to review the APA links I sent everyone in week one? What about the APA tutorial I created in the CONFERENCES tab?

6- You have APA errors. Your title/reference pages are incorrect. Last page should have “Reference(s)” bold and centered. I should not see underline.

Review how to write titles for sources, some should not have capital letters for each word. Where is the hanging indent? You may want to review the APA link in your week one discussion thread for assistance.

7- Headers are no longer necessary in APA, you still need the page numbers. You should use the template under the FILES tab.

8- Title page should have date title in bold.
