Final Paper

Read the book, The Glass Castle, by Jeannette Walls.

Write a 4 – 5 page paper utilizing the perspectives you gained from the course readings and apply them to the Walls family. I will be grading your discussion using the rubric below, so please address all these topics in your paper. Grading will also include proper spelling and grammar.

• role of power and conflict within relationships

• economic distress on the family

This is not intended to be a book report, but rather a discussion on “family” relating to the individual members of the Wall family and the challenges they faced. I am looking for your ability to apply what you’ve learned about family issues throughout this course to the Walls family system. For example, when discussing the parenting style, I want you to select the style as outlined in the text and support this with examples of the Walls’ parenting.
