I don’t know how to handle this Political Science question and need guidance.

For your research topic, pick a disaster. Any past disaster will do as long as you feel that you can find enough information to write a paper on. Stick to the medical aspect of the disaster you chose to research. Think ESF-8 reporting. Here is a list of information you can research about each disaster:

• EMS Response
• Hospital Response
• Hospital/Nursing Home Evacuation
• Morbidity/Mortality Rates
• Prevalent Medical Conditions
• PTSD Cases

You are not required to use the above list, just providing ideas. As long as you stick to the namesake of the course (Health and Medical Issues of Emergency Management).

Research Paper Expectations

• Cover page
• Works cited page
• 12 font
• Double spaced
• APA Format
• 4,000 to 4,500 words (not including the cover page and works cited page)
• No more than 15% of the paper should be cited content. Points will be heavily taken for anyverbiage copy and paste verbiage past that.
• Use reputable sources (academic journal articles, well-cited news articles, etc…)

All papers submitted in this course should be your own original work. The focus of this paper is to conduct research into your topic and based on that research arrive at your own conclusions, but your research and your own ideas must be clearly differentiated in your paper.

Your paper will be run through TurnItIn to detect potential plagiarism. All ideas and content that come from other sources must be properly quoted and cited in your paper. You must follow APA style and include a list of references.
