Step One: Imagine that you are an Healthcare leader at a 300 bed hospital. Your facility invested heavily in desktop workstations 10 years ago when it was built, but now the technology is not working for your physicians. The physicians have asked you to make a case to the hospital executive leadership for them to get new, mobile devices. You have been asked to attend the next Hospital Board Meeting to present a briefing on the problem and your proposed solution.

Step Two: In preparation for the Hospital Board Meeting, create a 1 page executive summary of the issue and your recommendation AND a PowerPoint slide deck for the board meeting (minimum of 15 slides). Ensure that your solution/recommendation takes into account the following:

Connectivity (network)
Power source/battery life
Portability
Screen size
Resolution
Compatibility with other tools/applications
Device management
Step Three: Submit your executive summary and board meeting slide deck for grading. Your executive summary should be in Microsoft Word format. Your board meeting slide deck should be in Microsoft PowerPoint format. Cite all sources in APA format.

Step One: The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) Health IT Certification Program helps to ensure that health IT conforms to the standards and certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. The Office of Health IT Certification was established to develop and oversee national programs for the certification of health information technology by the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act. Health IT certification provides assurance to purchasers and other users that a system meets the technological capability, functionality, and security requirements. Step Six: Once in the eRx tool, click on the green “Start ONC testing” button to use the tool.

Step Seven: Following the instructions online, go into a Test Case and a Test Step. Take a screen shot of the example message that you see.

Step Eight: Submit your screen shot, along with a 2 page summary detailing what you learned as you reviewed the ONC criteria for grading.Ensure that you include a discussion of the importance of the concepts of vocabulary, language, terminology, and nomenclature. Your summary with screen shot should be in Microsoft Word format. Cite all sources in APA format.
