Section 1:

Problem: Sign up for one specific health related issue from the list provided in the groups section. One topic/student is allowed. Locate the Groups tab on the left tool bar of the course homepage to sign up for a specific topic for this assignment. There are two pages of items under the Groups folder.

Identify the Health Care Problem as the Title and Introduction to your paper.
Define the problem.
Location: Identify a small geographic area such as a city, town, neighborhood, a quadrant of a large metropolis, a specific housing development/division. The location must include mixed ages, genders, ethnicities, economic levels and education levels. This community could be where you live &/or work.

Identify demographics of the population: age, genders, ethnicities, economic levels, education levels.
Identify characteristics of the location: geographical characteristics, including potential barriers; population size and density; age and availability of housing: transportation methods available, & access to healthcare
Time/Prevalence: Discuss a period of time in which the health care problem has occurred in your chosen location: when it began and how long it has lasted. Prevalence is the condition of the issue being widespread

What portion of your population is/can be affected?
Is the problem affecting those outside your chosen population?
Is the prevalence increasing or decreasing and why? Or is this a one-time occurrence?
Is or will the distribution of the issue be equal across all demographics of your population?
Occurrence: Frequency of occurrence, intermittent or constant.

Will or does the issue occur in specific circumstances?
Is your chosen population at risk for developing problems?
Is the problem seasonal, cyclical or a one-time occurrence?
