1- Chapter 8 Thinking, Reasoning, and Language

As you learned in chapter 8 of your textbook which covers thinking, reasoning, and language, there are ways that our thinking and reasoning can be influenced by
personal biases and heuristics. These biases and heuristics might make our lives a bit easier by facilitating thought and reducing the effort required to decide
whether we want to go with the regular order of steak and eggs at our usual restaurant, or try it at a new place. However, they can obscure our views and limit the
amount of information that we encounter. For this writing assignment, select ONE particular heuristic or bias found in chapter 8 of your textbook, define what it is in
your own words, apply it to an instance in which you used that particular heuristic or how you were influenced by a certain bias, and describe how the scientific
approach can help us to overcome these errors in thinking and realize that the steak and eggs at the new restaurant might be really good too.
