The last section of Chapter 2 describes seven influential theories. These theories can be applied to group work as well as individual work. Several students in this class are interested in going into clinical social work (to work as mental health therapists at the MSW level) and I think this brief section on theories is a nice introduction to seven treatment theories/approaches. Keep in mind there are many other theories available, but this list provides a basic introduction to these common theories in social work (as well ascounseling and psychology).
