Week 3 Individual Literature Review On Your Group Topic

This assignment is about individual literature review on your group topic.

If you already decided a group topic, each student need to find 5-10 articles on that topic, read them and write a 2-5 pages summary of those articles independently. You will need to cite the sources in the content of the summary, and list the cited work at the end of the summary.

You have learned several ways of location literatures in the Literature Search Exercise you did last week. These ways of locating literatures including, but not limited to, keywords search, author search (search authors who published in the topic you wanted to study), and identify literatures from the reference list cited by the article you read. You may use all of these ways and any other ways you learned before to locate the literatures you need to read and summarize.

You also learned two ways to organize the literature review in class yesterday.  You are encouraged to use subheadings to organize the information.  Synthesize and organize what you read is a kay of the review.  You need to smoothly tell the readers, the people who will read your summary, what has been studied in the areas that you wanted to further study in a logical and organized manner.  List what you read by each article is NOT the correct way to summarize the literature and it is NOT acceptable.  You may follow the model of the articles you read and mimic how the literature review was conducted in those articles if you need examples to follow.  You may use the articles posted by Dr. Wang as the models to complete your literature review if you are not confident about whether the articles you selected are good examples or not.
