Criteria for Final Research Paper:

This paper needs to be at least 6 to 8 pages in length (not including the cover page or reference page) and completed in APA format (6th edition). You must utilize the text, and 6 scholarly resources for this paper. Additionally, please provide a heading for each section. For example: “Introduction”; “Purpose Statement;” and so forth. This paper must include the following components:
•Cover page in APA format
•Introduction

The introduction section of a paper is intended to provide the background information that is essential for the reader to understand the nature and scope of the problem you have selected. For this section, you want to make sure it is clear to the reader the issue being examined, where exactly the issue is occurring (i.e. in your own department or company-wide) and if it has always been a pervasive issue within your organization.

The introduction helps the reader better understand the focus of your research paper. The introduction is NOT intended to be exhaustive! Maximum: 3 paragraphs.
•Purpose Statement:

The purpose statement should be clear, concise, definitive, unambiguous and readily understood by anyone who reads it. Not only would you state the issue you will be discussing, but the 2 components you chose to discuss your issue with (i.e. culture, leadership and or ethics). Minimum: 2 to 3 sentences Maximum: 1 paragraph
•Content/Analysis of issue as it pertains to two, of the three components of organizational behavior (i.e. culture, leadership & ethics).

In the analysis of paper, you want to focus on supporting your purpose statement.

Think about how your issue is further exacerbated by the two of the three components you chose to discuss your issue with. For example:
•Organizational Culture: How is your chosen issue impacted by the workplace culture? How does the workplace culture exacerbate your issue?
•Leadership: How do you think leadership impacts your chosen issue? What leadership style or characteristics further contribute to perpetuating your issue?
•Ethics: How does the ethical climate of your organization further contribute to this issue? Are there specific ethical principles that are not being utilized and therefore, making the issue worse?

Additionally, in order to provide a thorough critical analysis of the issue, be sure to incorporate theories/concepts from not only the text, but 6 additional scholarly as well. It is also expected that specific examples will be provided to further substantiate your statements.

Remember, do not focus on what “should” occur in this section, you want to focus on critically analyzing the issue as it relates to the two components you chose. Maximum: 4 pages in length.
•Solutions/Recommendations

In this section you will discuss potential recommendations or solutions to your issue. It is not enough to just merely list your recommendations, you must explain the logic behind why the recommendations/solutions will potentially help the issue. Please make sure the solutions you provide tie back to the examples provided in the analysis section. Maximum: one page in length.
•Conclusion

The conclusion must be succinct and concise, and wrap up the central theme of the paper. It should emphasize the significance of your purpose statement and the issues you have discussed throughout the body of your paper. Maximum: 2 paragraphs in length.
•Reference page

Every source listed on the reference page should also be cited within the body of the paper.
