. Review Brown, S. C. (1989). The impact of case law on liability waivers. Journal of Sport Management, 3, 5-14. You can find the article in the online library. Instructions for locating journal articles can be found under Resources in the course menu.

2. Find an actual waiver in sport. You may use a waiver you might have at work or from another sport organization. It is recommended that you get permission from the appropriate individual(s) to use the form, but you do not have to identify the organization from where you got it.

3. Scan the waiver or download it to your computer. If you don’t have access to a scanner, you may download a form from the Internet.

4. Write a critique on the waiver. Then post your critique to the discussion board along with the original waiver. In your critique, include a minimum of three things the organization has done correctly and at least three weaknesses in the form.

5. For your response posts, review two classmates’ waivers and respond to their original comments regarding the waivers they selected. Do you agree with their comments? Why or why not?

Be sure to: 1) identify the legal source of the issue, 2) define the legal terms/phrases that apply to the facts, 3) include a minimum of two Internet references, and 4) properly cite and reference all sources using APA format.
