Order Description

Must creat an .MPP file (using Microsoft Project) to:
The project for the company offsite 2-day training session has been given a preliminary go-ahead. However, a budget needs to be submitted for approval.

Update the Microsoft Project file by adding the following information:
?Identify resources (both personnel and materiel) needed for the project.
?Assign the resources to the project tasks.
?Estimate the costs for the resources, and add the costs to the resource information in the Microsoft Project file.
?Estimate the total cost for the project, using the Microsoft Project budget or cost reports

Instructor notes

Tasks should have included activities from creating the plan to executing (the training event) it, and tasks for the preparation, accommodation and facility arrangements. What was submitted are basically headers for the tasks that needed to be expanded. Also missing are the summary tasks. Milestones were established, but since the plan lacks details the milestones do not help with evaluating the project’s progress. Some example tasks are listed below: • Develop a plan for training event. The deliverable is the plan • Develop a WBS. The deliverable is the WBS • Develop cost estimate. The deliverable is a document summarizing cost estimate with the proper assumptions. • Develop schedule • Obtain funding from upper management • Make facility arrangements • Make lodging arrangements • Contract for training. Deliverable could have been the training material. • Execute training event.
