This course will focus on what it means for the individual to live in a multicultural, urban, and increasingly global society. Students will examine their own cultural identity, including values
and worldviews as well as assumptions and biases regarding others’ diversity. In addition, the course will focus on learning about different cultures and issues associated with urbanism,
globalization, cultural conflicts and social advocacy.

In these self Reflection Papers (2 pages each, no more, no less), students will write about their feelings/thoughts/concerns/new learning/new insights regarding readings, class activities,
discussions, films, and guest speakers; rubrics provided. (20 points each/40 points).
