Using the model demonstrated in class for small group case study problem-solving activities, which is found below, complete an enhanced case study that analyzes the issues in depth and breadth, and that includes an artistic product that represents your perspective.

You may choose any case study in your textbook, with the EXCEPTION of Paul Chavez to analyze. Perhaps there is a certain chapter that you find more interesting and you want to choose a case from that chapter. Perhaps you viewed a case study in one of the chapters that interested in you and therefore you want to choose that case. Perhaps you can identify with one of the case studies, personally or professionally, and that might be the reason you choose a particular one.

1. In what ways do the involved parties’ diversity perspectives, beliefs about immigrants, values about “others”, social justice viewpoints, attitudes toward cultural inclusion, and other relevant multicultural perceptions affect the relevant issues, problems, and/or opportunities of the identified individual in the case?

2. What actions, programs, or interventions do you propose to help alleviate the problems or issues, or to continue to promote or enhance the opportunities, for the identified case study individual?

3. What can teachers and schools learn from this case study about their school policies, inclusion practices, methods of teaching, involvement of the community or family members?

4. What can society as a whole learn from this case study about social justice?

5. How can I represent my perspectives about this case study artistically? In addition to an essay that answers the four questions above, also submit an artistic product that summarizes or conveys your attitudes and opinions. It can be a song, a rap, a poem, a poster, a constructed 3-D model, a timeline, a map, a dance you created, or some other artistic product that relates to the case issues, solutions, and social justice concerns.
