The purpose of this paper is to:

One, Students will write a personal vision statement that will articulate where the student intends to be five to ten years out into their career.  Next, contained within the same document, yet separate, the student will develop a mission statement that will explain the practices and behaviors in which the student will engage in order to achieve their stated vision.

Second, students will write a philosophy of leadership based on what leadership means to you using their understandings of class readings, class discussions and a sense of self.  This philosophy will clarify to the reader how the individual intends to interact with future coworkers as well as communicate the attributes necessary for effective leadership.

Third, write a statement about the legacy you want to leave.

Fourth, Students will complete the Leadership Project by writing a paper that in includes 3 Leadership Topics listed below.  Students will research scholarly journal articles on each of the 3 Leadership Topics (see list).

15.    Leadership – The New Leadership Generation

Project Paper Requirements:
1.    Write a minimum 8 page paper on “What Leadership Means to Me”.  Include Steps 1, 2, 3 and 4 above.
2.    Research Scholarly Journal articles for each of the 3 Leadership Topics chosen.
3.    Scholarly Journal Articles are to have been published between the years 2009 and 2015.
