BUS 605/Case Analysis Assignment – The Team That Wasn’t

Directions: Read the case “The Team That Wasn’t” (it is included in the Harvard Business School Publishing course-pack). Then answer the 3 questions listed below. The document containing your answers to these questions must be submitted no later than the beginning of class on 10-17-2015 (email submissions must be received before 8:00am on 10-17-2015). The length of your document should not exceed 8 pages. Please note that I am unable to accept any late submission (which will forfeit the grade allocated to this assignment).

1.    Use the team effectiveness model and other leadership concepts discussed in this course and in the Power Point slides to explain what is causing the team-related problems that the FireArt team is experiencing. Make sure that you identify all the causes and explain their impact on the team and its performance.

2.    Which of these problems stem from poor leadership? And whose leadership? Justify your answer.

3.    What actions should Eric Holt and the FireArtteam take in order to address the problems and causes identified in questions 1 and 2. Use the theoretical concepts discussed in class to justify your recommendations.
