1. Observed Skills Exercise–this will take place as soon as practicable

•Plan and prepare a structured behavioral job selection interview via Skype, telephone, or in person where possible

a.One student as interviewer
b.One student as interviewee (role play applicant based on own up-to-date CV)
c.A third student can be an observer
Choose whether to plan and implement an interview for an HR Officer role, or for an HR Administrator role (a description of
each is attached in the syllabus).
Working in pairs or trios decide whether to role play only one of the two job roles or to role play both of them.

• Conduct one interview each:
a.15 minutes interview, followed by 5 minutes feedback(facilitated by observer when present)
b.Change roles and repeat
With a trio, A interviews B, B interviews C, C interviews A = 1hr

•Students are encouraged to submit a draft interview schedule for commentby the tutor prior to conducting the interview.
This supports students in conducting an interview process and in subsequent written critical reflection.
2. Written Assignment – 3,000 words

• Reflect on planning and implementing a structured behavioral job selection interview including reflection on the observed
Skills Exercise practical application of behavioral skills (approximately 900 words)
• Produce a personal development plan based on the above reflections (approximately 900 words)
• Relate learning from the selection skills exercise to the aims, content and intended learning outcomes of the Resourcing and
Talent Management half of the RLTM module with particular attention to the recruitment and selection process (approximately 1,200 words)
