Order Description
For this project, you will reflect on my academic journey prior to this semester. What milestones have brought you to this point in your academic and personal life?
You will begin by reading, highlighting, and annotating the excerpt “Superman and Me” by Sherman Alexie.
As you read about Alexie’s influences, consider and note the experiences that have influenced your own journey.
Consider these questions:
• Did you enjoy learning, or was it a challenge?
• What, if any, social stigmas did you face?
• How did that hinder or inspire you as you progressed through school and daily life?
• What does learning mean to you now?
• How does your current enrollment in college relate to your journey?
Planning and preparation may take place in advance, but the actual drafting must take place in class during the specified time period.
• The essay should be a minimum of 500 words arranged in at least five paragraphs including an introduction with thesis statement, body paragraphs and a conclusion.As you write about each of the milestones you choose to include in your essay, make sure that each one supports the thesis statement.
