Question 4 –

The second sentence of “Here’s Your Crisis: Student Loan Debt Isn’t a Myth” blatantly states the two authors beliefs from the first infographic. This introduction is a guide into the first infographic because this article is a retort to the first. As a result, the authors speculate that the readers have seen the earlier infographic. Both infographics are biased to their opinion on student loans because they only present evidence that strengthen their own thesis. In the first infographic it said “But for students from these families not going to college can be more expensive than going to college.” This is a suggestion and even though it is based off of a fact, it is not accurate. Therefore, the information provided is not fairly or accurately represented. The second infographic does present a good convincing response to “The Myth of the Student Loan Crisis.” The second article not only shows its own infographics; it further explains each point made. Furthermore, the second article is easier to sympathize and understand because many students, families, and businesses are in debt.

Question #4

Do the authors of “Here’s Your Crisis: Student Loan Debt Isn’t a Myth” assume that their readers have seen the earlier infographic?  Do they represent that infographic fairly and accurately?  Does this infographic present a convincing response to “The Myth of the Student Loan Crisis?

The way that this infographic is prepared it is easy to assume the author thinks you have read the previous infographic. It references statistics and benefits listed in the original infographic and gives a contrasting view. The way that the infographic is represented is accurate. They indirectly reference the previous infographic and compare the details to their findings and research.  Student debt is a big concern and the infographic lays out the advantages and disadvantages. It allows people to see both views and make informed decisions if considering college.

Answer to Question #4

  1. Do the authors of “Here’s Your Crisis: Student Loan Debt Isn’t a Myth” assume that their readers have seen the earlier infographic?
  2. Do they represent that infographic fairly and accurately?
  3. Does this infographic present a convincing response to “The Myth of the Student Loan Crisis?

The authors of the response “Here’s Your Crisis: Student Loan Debt Isn’t a Myth” have an assumption that their readers have read the earlier infographic. This is the reason their paper is centered in a way that suggest that they are responding to a previously done paper. They represent their infographic fairly, and they make an indirect critique to the other one. The fact that they do not point fingers directly to the previous paper just shows how fair they are to their infographic. The infographic in the response clearly presents a better answer that is so convincing towards the earlier propositions. The opposition had stated that the problem could be passed thing once the economy starts to pick up in time.
