Interview, Summary and Analysis

Students will identify a health professional in a field/discipline in which they hope to focus on in their career. Once identified, each student will do background research on the individual, his/her position, and the organization that they work in. Based on this information, students will create a list of questions (10 – 15), which will help them to prepare for and develop themselves for their future career pathway. Once this list is approved, the student use these questions to interview the health professional (in person or by phone, NOT through email). Responses will be summarized and analyzed for a paper which illustrates how the interview informed each student’s career preparation and development. Questions should be tailored to the health professional being sought for an interview.  These questions should not be generic, lack substance, and/or inquire about issues readily available through publicly- or easily-accessible resources.  The questions should generate information that can be uniquely found from the interviewee based on their training, experience, and/or persona values. QUESTIONS: What made you fall in love with your profession? How did you develop the core skills needed in order to run your business? What social hurdles did you have to face while building the core of your business? The main social “hurdle” that the interviewee said he had to face was mainly spending countless hours on building business. He was used to Why did you choose to establish a business in the health care field? What is the next step in your career going forward? What are the most important things you learned on your path? What could I do to get my foot into the door? Is there any advice that you could give me that you learned from personal experience? How much information from university did you utilize and how much information did you utilize through your peers? What was the main motivation that kept you going even when classes/life/business was hard?
