Research Paper The student will select any topic from the 1301timeline (1270-1865) and research their topic using 1 Primary sources and 2 Secondary sources incorporating into their paper 3 citations from each source they use and find to satisfy the requirements. The length of their research paper will be of 6-7 pages where they will use their sources (citations) wisely as well as their crafting of a paper that highlights their research, writing and analyzing skills fully.  No textbook, Wikipedia, Encyclopedia, Websites, etc to be used. Only academic primary and secondary sources to be used. Research Paper The following is a guideline on how to prepare and construct a research paper with the allotted points at stake if the student fails to comply with the procedures. Given are the due dates, how and where to turn them and what is expected in a timely manner before the final research paper draft or copy is completed  The points that could be deducted all count for the overall grade of the paper which constitutes a 100. Sources: The student must also research and gather supporting academic materials that are deemed appropriate and can be used in the paper by going to the library and using the online library search tools provided by the college. There must be ONE primary source used and TWO Secondary sources used in the paper. Usage of Sources: The student must use all three sources that he/she are planning to use throughout the paper. If the student changes their mind after submitting the sources on blackboard, then they can incorporate the new sources, but discard the old sources they plan on not using. Each source used in the paper must be used THREE (3) times in its proper usage and citations. Failure to cite and use each of source 3 times will resort in a 5 point deduction. Citation of sources: The student can either MLA/Chicago format.  Once a student uses a source properly in the paper they have to cite it correctly to prevent any form of plagiarism.  I will accept any of the three proper usages and methods. Footnote, endnote, and the parenthesis with author last name and comma with page number from source. I will provide in class an example throughout the semester on what each looks like to help the student out to do it correctly.
