1. Select a job of moderate complexity. A job that is too complex (too many tasks/unobservable) or too simple (only a few tasks) will cause you problems at every phase of the project. YOU MUST HAVE YOUR JOB APPROVED BY THE INSTRUCTOR BEFORE YOU PROCEED BEYOND THE JOB ANALYSIS PHASE.
2. The job selected must be a full-time job. Avoid reporting on your own job as that creates “subjectivity” problems. Be sure you have close access to the information and the person whose job is being assessed during the entire quarter. You will need to periodically interview this person to get additional information as the project progresses.
3. Select a job for which a) a job description, b) some selection procedures (at least an application blank) and performance appraisal methods (form) exist.
4. Progressive steps should show in your work; complete job analysis, recruitment and selection plan and evaluation milestones are required in your final report and presentation.
5. All phases of this assignment must be completed for the same job.
6. Appendices must be placed at the end of each section and referred to/explained in the paper. The paper must contain appropriate headings/sub-headings.
7. Be creative! the instructor will not suggest content, ways to organize or format. It is up to your imagination.
