The movies on the Module Overviews have been chosen by communication researcher Julia Wood as they illustrate the concepts for those corresponding Modules.  Choose one of the movies from the Module Overviews from Modules 3 – 6.  You should be able to rent it from your local library, Hulu, Amazon, Netflix, or access it for free from Megashare.com  (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site.You might have to watch it more than once to truly conduct your analysis.  You will definitely have to stop and start it in order to take notes.  You will be graded on the rubric below.  You need to use terms from the book or lectures in each of the sections in the Body of the paper.  You need to bold the terms.  Bold the term the first time you use it in the section.  State the movie watched at the top of the paper.  Divide your paper into the following sections, and use Section Headings to divide your paper.

Self Concept/Identities:  Describe the self concept and main identities of the 2 major characters.  How did their self concepts and identities impact their realities?  Give specific examples from the movie to back up your statements.
Listening:  Describe and rate the listening styles of the 2 major characters.  What barriers to listening did they exhibit?  Give specific examples from the movie to back up your statements.
Language:  Choose anything from the Language Lecture to discuss that is exhibited in the movie.  Choose anything from Chapter 5 to discuss that is exhibited in the movie.  Give specific examples from the movie to back up your statements.
Perception:  Choose anything from the Perception Lecture to discuss that is exhibited in the movie.  What suggestion or advice would you give the 2 major characters based on what you learned in the Perception Lecture?  Give specific examples from the movie to back up your statements.
Communication Climate:  Describe the Communication Climate between the 2 major characters.  What suggestions of advice would you give the 2 major characters based on what you learned in the Communication Climate Lecture?  Give specific examples from the movie to back up your statements.
Conclusion/Summary:  What did you learn from this experiment of being so observant?  Should I keep this type of assignment instead of an Exam, or would you rather take a traditional Exam?  Why/why not?
