Write my Essay Green Flourescent Protein

Read the following academic papers:
Chalfie, M., Y. Tu, G. Euskirchen, W. Ward and D. Prasher (1994). Green fluorescent protein as a marker for gene expression. Science 263: 802-805.

Heim, R. and R. Y. Tsien (1996). Engineering green fluorescent protein for improved brightness, longer wavelengths and fluorescence resonance energy transfer. Current Biology 6: 178-182

Then, compile the ideas from both papers into one press release that explains the concepts in easily understood language.

Press Releases should be approximately 400-800 words
~1-2 paragraphs explaining the “big picture” problem addressed by the science in layman’s terms
~2-3 paragraphs explaining how the scientists addressed the problem. Detailed explanations of every experiment are not required, instead highlight one or two key approaches in very general terms. This should summarize the paper or papers that will be presented. Be sure to avoid using technical terms. Rather, explain experiments in the context of what they were trying to find out. (E.g., don’t write “they used RT-PCR to determine gene expression”, rather write “they determined which genes were turned on”. Or, rather than writing “separated proteins by gel filtration” write “separated proteins according to their size”.
~1-2 summary paragraphs relating the findings back to the “big picture” problem identified in the introduction. Information highlighting how this advanced our knowledge, and why this is relevant in a broader societal context. It may be relevant to briefly mention any follow-up studies performed by winners or other researchers.
