Recommended structure of essay:

· Introduction

· Main body: 3-5 paragraphs

· Conclusion

Introduction

The introductory paragraph should include the thesis statement, a kind of mini-outline for the paper: it tells the reader what the essay is about. The last sentence of this paragraph should also contain a transitional “hook” which moves the reader to the first paragraph of the body of the paper.

Main Body (3-5 paragraphs)

The body of the essay should include 3- 5 paragraphs that develop the THESIS from the introductory paragraph.

Conclusion

This paragraph should include the following:

1. A restatement of the thesis statement, using some of the original language or language that “echoes” the original language. (The restatement, however, must not be a duplicate thesis statement.)

2. A summary of the main points from the body of the paper.

3. A final statement that lets the reader know that the discussion has come to an end.

Answer the following question:

“I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met.” (Anne Lister) Briefly analyze the differences between Anne Lister’s conception of a non-normative identity and that of EITHER Radclyffe Hall’s Stephen Gordon, OR Krafft-Ebing’s Count Sandor OR Leslie Feinberg’s Jess Goldberg, taking into account the paradigm shifts that occur at the end of the nineteenth century.
