Paper, Order, or Assignment Requirements

For this project, you are the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The Executive Director of the International Association of Chiefs of Police has asked you to provide him or her with a white paper on criminal profiling. The Executive Director wishes to encourage all police agencies to use this valuable resource, but the IACP wants an update on the procedure since it has been around now for approximately 40 years. There is also concern with using the term profiling, as it has taken on some new negative connotations.

-Describe criminal profiling.
-Explain the various methods used in criminal profiling.
-Discuss psychopathy as it pertains to criminal behavior.
-Illustrate the predatory behaviors based on crime scene behavior evidence.
-Explain the predatory behaviors.
-Discuss what role forensic victimology plays in criminal profiling.
-Explain what forensic evaluations are and what role they play.
-Explain the legal and ethical issues involving criminal profiling
-Be sure to address the concerns over the term profiling. Is there a new or better term?
-Discuss the legal and ethical issues involved with criminal profiling. Be sure you have provided a detailed response that clearly shows the entire process of criminal profiling.
-The FBI has their own method, but for the purpose of this paper you will need to decide if there is a particular method you suggest to the IACP, be it the FBI method or otherwise. You will need to explain your thought process. If you do not recommend one method over another, explain this as well.
