Bible Character: Daniel: Submerged in a Different Culture

Daniel was raised by a godly family in Israel, but was deported to Babylon with three of his buddys as a teenager. These boys were submerged in an ungodly culture, taught a new language, and indoctrinated in Babylonian philosophy and trained to become servants to the king. Attempts were made to erase all of their prior learning and any reference to their faith as even their names were changed to eliminate the references to God in them. Daniel emerged as a leader to his three partners and eventually became a leader in Babylon.

Read Daniel 1:1-21.
