universe. Both the theories of Genesis and Hesiod’s Theogony agree on the existence of heaven and earth. The heaven and earth are depicted in Theogony as husband and wife which came into existence. The names given to the heaven and earth according to Theogony are Uranus and Gaia respectively (Parker 35). There exist a gap between the heaven and the earth called Khaos which is the air.
