We can work on SWK 2250 Troy University Poverty in Society Discussion Questions – Assignment Help

I’m working on a social science multi-part question and need a sample draft to help me study.

1) Read and consider the following information:

A 2001 national poll conducted by National Public Radio, the Kaiser Foundation, and Harvard University found that nearly half (45%) of respondents felt that poverty was caused by circumstances beyond a person’s control, and that the other half of respondents (48%) felt that poverty was caused by people not doing enough to escape poverty (Lichter & Crowley, 2002).  A more recent survey by the Cato Institute (Ekins, 2019) found that 62% of those surveyed who identified as politically conservative felt that hard work leads to wealth,  while 48% of those surveyed who identified as politically liberal felt that family connections leads to wealth.

2) Create a post to the discussion board answering the following questions.  Each question that is answered will be worth up to 5 points:

  • Do you believe that poverty is the fault of an individual or the fault of society, and why do you believe what you believe concerning the reasons for poverty?
  • What degree of help (if any) should the government, private charities, public social service agencies, and religious  organizations provide for the poor ?
  • As a social work professional, what will you do to help people escape poverty?
