1) Selective perception is a big social concept found within the social studies surrounding race. Selective perception simply means people see what they want to see concerning a certain racial group. That is, people can ignore blatant proof and believe what they want. Why do you think people (may) have selective perception surrounding a given racial group? Try and give 3 reasons. Discuss with your classmates.
2) Where do your perceptions of people outside of your racial group come from and how does that source influence your perceptions surrounding a racial group outside of your own? Discuss 3 sources with one another and why do you think they are influential?
