We can work on PSY 2317 University of Houston Downtown Psychological Statistics Worksheet – Assignment Help

I’m working on a psychology multi-part question and need guidance to help me understand better.

If a question asks for a proportion or a probability, your answer should be in decimal format, carried out to 4 decimal places, exactly as the proportions appear in the unit normal table. Don’t transform an answer into a percentage unless you’re asked to.

When you’re looking for proportions in the table, if the exact proportion you want is not there, use the one that’s closest to the one you want. Don’t interpolate.

(1) The data file, Astros_abs_hits_2019.csv consists of three variables from the Astros 2019 season: Game (game number for each of the 162 regular season games), AB (number of at-bats), H (number of hits). Download Astros_abs_hits_2019.csv and open it in Jamovi.

(2) Make sure the measure type and data type are correct for all three variables.

(3) Using the techniques we learned in the Ch03 through Ch05 homework assignments, create a new variable called BA (which stands for batting average) by dividing H by AB and multiplying the result by 1,000. This column will contain the team batting averages for each of the 162 regular season games in the 2019 season. Examine the results of your calculation to make sure they look reasonable. For example, if there were 20 Hs in a game and 40 ABs, then the BA for that game should be 500.000. If your results don’t look reasonable, then work with the formula until the results look right.

(4) Open the Descriptives menu and move BA into the Variables box. Save the .omv file and name it Astros_abs_hits_2019_YourLastName.omv.

(5) The data file, Houston_rain_1933-2019.csv shows the annual rainfall in Houston in inches each year from 1933 through 2020. Download Houston_rain_1933-2020.csv and open it in Jamovi.

(6) Make sure the measure type and data type are correct for both variables.

(7) Open the Descriptives menu and move Rainfall into the Variables box. Save the .omv file and name it Houston_rain_1933-2020_YourLastName.omv.
