Object: Portrait of a Girl with Dog . Ernest Narjot
https://collections.lacma.org/node/230543

This is a further assignment of the research paper (Louis Prang, Valentine card,1883).
This is not a research essay, it is more like visual feeling.
Talk about how this object sheds light on designer’s (Louis Prang) world.
———————————————————————————

At a one of the museums above, locate an object that would have been part of your designer’s (Louis Prang) (the focus of your research paper) context. Keep within 10 years of the date of the object you will focus your research paper on.
NOTE: you don’t have to document that your designer(Louis Prang) was aware of the object; just look for an object that might tell you something about their world.
The object can be a painting, sculpture, drawing, work of architecture, furniture, textile prints, household, or office decor, etc.
In your response, talk about how this object sheds light on your designer’s(Louis Prang) world – what does the object tell us about that world? Was the artist/designer of the chosen object responding to the same things your designer was, or solving similar problems? Or was everybody else doing one thing while your designer did something else?

GUIDELINES:
1. Identify the object chosen: artist, title, date, medium used.
2. Describe the object – briefly, but concisely.
3. Discussion of relevance to the object and designer of your research paper.
4. The response should be at least 2-3 pages long and in the MLA Format. If you do research proper citations and a Works Cited Page must be used. Remember, intentional or not uncited information will result in a ZERO for the assignment.
5. Include an image of the object and place it AFTER the text of your response on a separate page.
