• Is fascism alive today?

Yes. In my view, fascism is alive and well. Take, for example, a country like Russia that has been under Putin’s rule, whether directly or indirectly, for two decades now. Even when he was forced out of office due to term limits, he installed his puppet as the president and was a powerful prime minister. In a country like Uganda, Museveni has ruled with an iron fist since 1986. He openly violates his political opponents’ rights and is willing to do anything to remain in power. Most recently, Trump attempted it in America. He found himself a cult-like following, referred to the media as ‘fake news,’ and attacked everyone against him. He has now refused to concede his election loss. Had there not been firm institutions in the US, Trump would have been the next Putin or Museveni.

As to answer 3, I admit I don’t know much about Uganda. As to Russia, I see it as a traditional authoritarian state, which, unlike fascism, does not have a strong ideology. This distinction was proposed by a famous political scientist called Juan Linz: https://www.britannica.com/biography/Juan-Linz . If you decide to write on these topics, I will tell you more. On Trump and fascism, I am not sure either, but the point is not a single personality, it is about building a system.
