1:You make a great point in your post. I think when businesses talk to each other, they use figures of accounting. What I did not think about when I posted earlier, was the fact that customers like to hear the business accounting information when buying a product many times. I use my own experience and think of when I buy something from a store and want to make sure it is cost efficient. I think accounting is used in every day life to some extent.
2:Yes Joshua the customers input is critical to the success of a company. However, without accounting there is no way to accurately predict cash flows debits or credits, raise money for projects, or know if you can afford to purchase equipment, hire new staff and pay the bills. The end product of accounting allows the user/accountant to generate reports to show the organization’s monetary transactions, growth and net worth.
3:
In my opinion, financial information is important to employees as well. They need to know what the budget is to be more efficient in the work area. At my company, we do not know or even have access to any financial information other than market value of stocks. It basically comes down to the managers decision on any requests we put in. The employees do have a certain feel for where the company is financially though. If they are not hiring and layoff rumors are flowing, then we know not to request any tool fixes.
