Assignment question on reading by Rachel McKinnon “Stereotype Threat and Attributional Ambiguity for Trans Women”

While race, age, and gender forms of stereotype threat have been discussed by feminists, McKinnon claims that little attention has been given to transgender forms of stereotype threat. Select to explain, discuss, and evaluate ONE of the dominant tropes used to stereotype trans women: deceptive, pathetic, and artificial. Discuss one of the examples McKinnon uses to illustrate the kinds of stereotype threat experienced by trans women that are different from those experienced by cisgender women.
