* From the e-Activity, identify the key aspects of the Fourth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution and analyze the manner in which it pertains to the average American citizen in regard to search and seizure. Provide a rationale for your response.
Identify two (2) situations where a police officer may stop and question individuals based on their visual behavior, which is also known as a pat down. Next, give your opinion as to whether or not the reasons why the police pat down the individuals are valid in the situations you identified. Provide a rationale for your response.

Respond to this person’s post in less than 200 words.

“The Fourth Amendment has the purpose of protecting from the American people from unreasonable searches and seizures by police officers or any government agency as it establish some type of privacy that’s guaranteed to the American people that cannot be violated unless there is probable cause. This protects their homes, personal effects, or any papers they have. As a general rule of The Fourth Amendment requires that police officers obtain a warrant before conducting searches and seizures. Even though, some warrantless searches and seizures are permissible, they are required to conform to a standard of reasonableness. This means that the American people don’t have to be concerned about their privacy being violated by the government without a valid reason.

One situation where a police officer might stop an individual or individuals based on their visual behavior to perform a patdown could be when there’s loud noise somewhere in public. The officer may go over to the group of individuals because they may have committed a crime and they may be hiding the evidence somewhere so then the officer may perform a patdown.

The second situation where a police officer may stop an individual or a group of individuals based on their behavior to form a patdown could be when someone is wearing sweatpants in the summer time. That person may have something illegal on them and they are trying to hide the illegal object from the police.”

Template for Week 3 Discussion

Hello class and Dr. C, here is my main discussion post for Week 3

“Rome’s Major Urban Structures”

The Urban Structure I have chosen to discuss is:  Well this part is easy, just tell me which structure you are going to look at, either: Colosseum, Circus Maximus, Pantheon, insulae (which were Roman apartment buildings), or bath complexes (feel free to insert a picture in the discussion as well of your topic that might be cool)

Why I think this structure is so interesting? Discuss a few things about your structure that you find fascinating.  The Romans were amazing builders and each of these structures has some fascinating things about them to discuss.

What urban issue did this structure address? Each of these structures addressed urban issues that no other civilization had to deal with yet.  The sheer size of the city of Rome created these urban problems and the Romans developed unique solutions.  For example, if you discuss insulae you could address the fact that Rome had an expanding population and limited space.  Most other civilizations just built outward as they expanded, but Rome, which would eventually be a city of over a million people simply did not have enough land to build out, so did they do?  They built up!!!  Created apartment style housing for the first time in history

How this structure has impacted modern buildings? This part should be easy; all of these building structures have left an impact on modern building styles and techniques.  Again, if you’re assessing insulae, why do you think apartment buildings look the way they do, and are designed the way they are?  Well, because that’s how the Romans did it and each of these urban structures created a model for how future civilizations would design urban structures Thanks,
Your First name/or name you want to be called.

Colosseum

Why I think this structure is so interesting? Discuss a few things about your structure that you find fascinating.

Well first things first, I think it’s super interesting that the colosseum is located in Rome, Italy because that’s somewere i’d love to visit. This structure is so fascinating because it is the largest amphitheatre ever built in history. This is a place that was a gift from the emperor to the romans. It was a symbol of power and majesty.

What urban issue did this structure address? Each of these structures addressed urban issues that no other civilization had to deal with yet.

Because the gladiators were generally slaves, prisoners of war, or condemned criminals , the urban issues that the colosseum addressed were putting the people to work. They were taught to be apart of the games and partake in the competition. It addressed the celebrations and sporting events.

How this structure has impacted modern buildings? This part should be easy; all of these building structures have left an impact on modern building styles and techniques.

The structure is made of stone and concrete. A lot of buildings today were made of this type due to the colosseum. When I think of the colosseum, I think of a stadium where we sit around and watch football games or concerts. However, the difference is that the games played in modern stadiums aren’t as painful or deadly as they were in the colosseum.”
