To complete this assignment, please write an essay (minimum of 500 words) that includes a detail discussion of the primary resources and “Cities in the Sky” episode and answers to the following critical thinking questions:

How were Native Americans portrayed in the paintings? How did these paintings shape European and American public perceptions of Native Americans? (essay must include two specific examples from the primary sources)
Were those portrayals and stereotypes of Native Americans accurate when compare to how Native Americans were highlighted in chapter 1 of the textbook?
How does the film challenge those stereotypes and perceptions? (essay must include two concrete/specific examples from the film)
How did the “Cities in the Sky” film expand your understanding of pre-Columbian societies beyond the content in the textbook?
What motives/interests did Europeans and Americans have in creating and perpetuating those stereotypes and perceptions of Native Americans?
Do you think some of these previous stereotypes or public perception of Native Americans still exist today?
