Need help with my Social Science question – I’m studying for my class.

The first four weeks of the semester have been centered on the formative themes of the field of
American Studies, which have especially surrounded the founding of the United States as a
nation-state. Key topics have included settlement, slavery, indigenous removal, religion,
expansion, citizenship, revolution, and identity formation, such as race, gender, class, sexuality,
and ability.
In 750 words, present an argumentative paper based on the assigned texts from class where you
discuss what two “keywords” best describe the development of the United States as a nationstate from British colony to continental empire. In other words, what two “keywords” best
encompass the lofty ideals of the United States and how those ideals translated into action? What
best defines the formation or the ideology of the United States? You will want to define your
keywords in the context of the readings and then provide textual examples to defend your
argument.
There are many different directions you can take this paper. The key is to base it on the texts
from class and create an argument based on evidence. No outside research is required nor
warranted. Please keep your sources to the assigned readings, documentary, and primary
sources.
