this is a report on voice onset time that involves 2 adult participants between the ages 22-26, the first is a native speaker of English and the other is an L2 speaker
of English from Kuwait (Arabic native language) who has been living in the UK for 5 years. a list of 36 words was created using minimal pairs and the participants were
recorded reading out the words in randomised order using the carrier phrase ‘ I say…. ‘the recording took place in a sound proof lab. the voice onset time
for each plosive was measured and labelled using PRAAT. I will upload the results. I have them on an excel file that has 2 sheets, the first sheet shows the results
for the native speaker, the second shows the results for the L2 speaker. some of the VOT values for the non-native speaker of English are negative. the negative VOT
values for the L2 speaker are pre-voiced. the sheets also have screenshots from PRAAT that show long lag (aspirated), short lag and pre-voicing.
use the graphs and screenshots from excel file in this report.

You could then come up with specific hypotheses as to how they may differ from the results you found. Make sure to come up with hypotheses for both production and
perception.
