Financial 510 – Video Research project: American Greed
Davenport University
Note: Print these instructions first to help you when you are looking at the CNBC web site. This project is Week 1 Day 7 .
Assignment Description:
There is an American Greed show running every night on CNBC. There are many different times a day American Greed runs. You can view a new show that is running this season or you can pick an old show that ran in previous seasons. Keep in mind these shows typically run one hour long so plan accordingly.
• Go to www.cnbc.com. To view the American Greed Shows (Videos), look at the tabs across the top of the web page and look for the “Shows”. Put your mouse over the “Shows” tab and click on the CNBC U.S tab. Once on the page, go down the page and you will see “American Greed” and choose a show. Notice there is a listing on the right which shows this week’s TV schedule.
• Pick something from the American Greed section or a story about a problem company or a fraud case. Notice that I DON’T want you to do the history of Ford Motor Co. or something like that. Pick a case you would be comfortable discussing with others and that would be of interest to you.
Once you pick a video, watch it on the internet or on TV. I recommend taking notes on the video to help you write your paper.
Assignment Requirements:
1. Summarize the video you watched in a page and a half or two pages. You will be penalized if this section of the paper is less than one and a half pages. Make sure you have Summary as a header for this section. (15 points)
2. I want you to give me your reaction to the video you saw. This should be at a minimum of 1 page long but I would expect it to be about 1 – 2 pages long. Make sure you have “Reaction” as a header for this section. (20 points).
