Project Objectives:

To study the importance of Statistics in Various fields and in Information Technology and Computer Science.

The project consists of 2 parts.

Project Parts

Part 1

1. Write a suitable survey (at least 10 main questions)on one of the topics mentioned below.Choose at least 30 people for answering the survey.

Example for projects(students can choose one from these or find a topic on their own.)

1. Shoe size: the shoe size worn compared to the length of the feet.
2. Height prediction: what other measurement will help me predict the height of someone: length of index finger, arm or leg?
3. Finding if there is any relation between the length and width of leaves from a tree.
4. A survey of television: how much is watched, which channel, which type of programme.
5. A survey of tastes: which flavor of lays, favorite food, and leisure time out of college.

1. Gather the information into meaningful tables.
2. Make suitable charts in Excel for your data.
3. Calculate the measures of central tendency and measures of dispersion for your numerical data.
4. Draw a box plot for some part of your data.

Part 2

Answer the following questions briefly ( 3 to 4 sentences each)

1. Write the similarities and the differences between Survey and Questionnaire.
