1.Write a 1-2 paragraph summary of the book. Book reviews are not book summaries or book reports. The summary should be succinct. 10 points

2.What is the authors main argument/thesis? Does the author achieve what he/she has set out to do? 15 points

3.Explain the books relevancy to geography and its adjoining geographic concepts. What are the major geographic concepts being discussed? (colonialism, immigration, globalization, capitalism, etc.) 20 points

4.Assess the books strengths and weaknesses. What does the author do well? For example, does he or she use humor well? If so, then use a direct quote to support this opinion. Does the author describe things well? Does he or she give us a sense of place? If so, how? Remember, a book review is an original contribution by you, the author. Do not quote other book reviews in your review. The only quotes you should be using should come directly from the book youre reviewing. 20 points

5.Make a recommendation. To whom? Undergraduate students? Teachers? Explain. 10 points
