The framers wanted a stable constitution, but one which was capable of adaptation. Write an essay explaining how the Constitution has endured, continuing to be a “living document” after more than 200 years.

In your response: (a) Discuss a constitutional provision providing flexibility for the federal government to adapt to meet needs of the nation not anticipated in 1789 and an example of its impact on public policy; and (b) Discuss how formal change to the Constitution is provided for and the basic framework to achieve this
