The purpose of the study is to compare the learning experience of an African American male taking a math class in an online environment and traditional environment. The case study examines the capabilities levels of African American males in math classes and how they have been below average. Data was collecting using interviews and observations. This study showed how the African American males culturally interacted in an online and traditional setting. During the study, they also use the environment to see how they were impacted to learning math. At the conclusion on the study, the online environment was best suited for the African American males to learn versus the traditional classroom environment. The online classroom provided more resources and access that helped the subjects understand the material better and they learned at a faster rate which was conducive to their learning style.
